What Is Asthma?

Asthma is a chronic lung disease where the passage ways to the lungs are narrowed making it hard to breathe. Some of the more common symptoms of asthma are:

Advair Diskus is a preventative medication that is taken daily while other inhaler medications such as Albuterol are for emergency situations. When a person has severe difficulty breathing there are steroid nebulizer treatments that a person can be prescribed as these tend to be fast acting.
There are also tablet form medications such as Singulair which can be taken daily to help prevent asthma. Some people find taking a pill is more convenient than having to sit through a treatment. There are some instances when a person will be prescribe a breathing treatment along with another medication or allergy medication to help prevent the onset of an asthma attack.
